Pre- and Postnatal Health

During the last three months of pregnancy, the infant’s brain receives a continuous supply of polyunsaturated fatty acids, DHA in particular. These fatty acids are essential to the development of the brain function and visual function. The supply of fatty acids continues during the first year of life, and it is therefore essential that the mother has a regular intake of a DHA-enriched food or supplements during the last part of pregnancy and while breastfeeding.

Studies have demonstrated that infants given Omega-3-fortified formula show better intellectual development and visual acuity than infants given standard formula without Omega-3 fatty acids. The same applies to infants breast fed by mothers with a regular intake of seafood or marine Omega-3 supplements.

Marine-based EPAX 1050 TG provides the perfect supplement to support pre- and postnatal health.
